The Purchase... ...September 9, 2008
I swear, I was NOT looking for another car. Especially another project car. But this one found me, and I couldn't say no. It was listed on a local forum, and the guy was only 20 minutes from my house. It was a 1997 Corvette with bottom end noise, for a pretty decent price...so I went to check it out. He told me that he ran the car low on oil, it started knocking, and he hadn't driven it since...it sat for a year. It was pretty grimy, covered in dirt, wheels corroded, but overall I knew it was a nice car underneath the mess. The interior needed a good cleaning, but was in good shape. A couple pieces were cracked, but nothing major. It was white with a black leather interior and just about every option for 1997.
I took it for a short drive, it did indeed have some kind of knock, and a lot of small things needing fixing. I decided I wanted it though, so I had it towed home. I cleaned it up as best as I could, waxed it a few times and let it rest under its car cover. I had no idea when I would get around to fixing it...I just knew I wanted it!
