Some better weather for the third outing ... ... January 20, 2007
I had no big modifications for this week, just a few small "free" modifications as they are called on the LSx websites. Removed the MAF screen, throttle body bypass, cut up the stock air box tray, and hand ported the throttle body. It was also about 10 degrees cooler than previous weeks. Had to dress warmer but braving the chill was definitely worth it. I barely noticed a difference from the free mods while driving on the street, but at the track it does appear they counted for something.

Current modifications 1/20/07: LS6 intake, tune, muffler, and free mods.
A new best again, 8.23 @ 87.5mph. Up .16 tenths from last week, and gained 2.1 mph also.
From here I was facing a dilemma of what modifications to do next. I decided that a stall would be my next upgrade, as it seems more beneficial than headers (at this point). I say this because last week there was a very similar car running 8.3's, with long tubes. Hopefully a stall, tranny cooler, shift kit and drag radials will get me into the 7's. I would like to do these upgrades sooner than later, because once summer and fall roll around, the track gets super crowded, and the weather is unbearably humid and hot.
