To the quarter mile... ...April 6 & 7, 2007
After making sure things went well at Mooresville, I drove out to Rockingham for PINKS. On Friday there was an all day test and tune (absolutely packed) and on Saturday you were granted two runs. They gave you your time slip on the first run, but on the second you were not privy to your times. Kind of sucked because run #2 felt like a damn good run.
Anyway, on Friday my best pass was an 11.99 @ 111mph ( 7.600 @ 92.25 in the 1/8th) and on Saturday my best pass was an 11.95 @ 111mph ( 7.583 @ 90.6 in the 1/8th). I think the high 1/8th mile MPH in the first run was because I was running in the right lane...for whatever reason, it always trips just the 1/8th mile MPH a little higher than usual at this particular track. My 60' times were mediocre, a 1.63 and a 1.64. They were running a pro tree and I had trouble getting used to it. Instead of staging on the first light and rolling into the second, I tried to light both lights and then stall up my car, so I didn't get the launch just right. At least now I know how to do it better the next time. My reaction times were horrible also!!

I was very happy to break into the 11's. I had hoped my car would do so, but I didn't want to expect anything and be let down if it didn't happen. I think it runs pretty good for the modifications that it has. Next up I am considering a 3.73 gear, as I am coming through the traps at a pretty low RPM.
Here are my slips from Rockingham....sorry for the large image but it's hard to see otherwise.
