Preliminary results with the APS TT kit...                                                                   ...April 10, 2008

I headed out to Mooresville tonight for a few shakedown runs with the TT kit. It feels like a monster at the track - it just pulls and pulls and pulls. I was pretty happy with the results, but still have some kinks to work out. Something is up with my 2-3 shift. I'm not sure if it's stretching the converter or slipping the transmission, but something definitely was wrong. I lost a lot of valuable time in the 2-3 shift. I'm just going to save up for a built 4L60e, and have the converter restalled at the same time - I'm not sure the setup is maximizing the performance of the car as well as it could be.

I received a lot of compliments on it. People were coming out of the woodwork to find out what the heck was in it - it is so quiet compared to everything else out there! It seemed like all night all that I lined up against were flat out race cars...huge slicks, came on a trailer, drivers in full fire suits. And there was my formula crossing the line first. A friend of mine took a video - click here to view it.

As for now - the best time so far is 7.11 @ 99.5mph. My goal this year is 6's in the 1/8th mile and 10's in the 1/4th...we'll see how it goes with a new transmission!
